The Guardian & Vision Music Promotion Presents 'Kelis: Live In London'
LONDON, UK (Top40 Charts) Aside from training as a Cordon Bleu saucier, flogging ribs out of the back of her mobile food van and hosting a TV cookery show, 2014 marked the year in which Kelis released her sixth album, tellingly titled Food. She also performed at Somerset House with a big band and a horn section, a show described by Kitty Empire as "a blinder, replete with hits, humour and flute solos".

Dressed in "voluminous sea-goddess robes", her performance - part of the week-long annual summer series - was bookended with a triumphant interpretation of Nina Simone's Feeling Good, and inbetween ranged from 70s singer-songwriter soul on Lil Star to the slick ska of 2004's Trick Me. She also delivered a funk rework of Acapella's tribal rave, a snippet of her defining guest vocal on Ol' Dirty Bastard's 1999 Got Your Money, the skittish masterpiece of Millionaire (originally featuring André 3000) and a fusion of Get Along With You and Good Stuff lifted from her debut album, Kaleidoscope.

Listen to the live album ahead of its release on 24 November, and tell us what you make of it.
