Bay Area Chorus Of Greater Houston's New Artistic Director, Milton Pullen, Conducts The First Concert Of The 50th Anniversary Season
HOUSTON, TX. (Top40 Charts/ Bay Area Chorus of Greater Houston) The Bay Area Chorus of Greater Houston announces the first concert of its Fiftieth Concert Season, Look To The Future, with Milton Pullen, the new Artistic Director, on November 11, 2014 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 18220 Upper Bay Road, Nassau Bay, TX 77058.

Milton Pullen, a former director of the Bay Area Chorus (1970-1975), joins us once again as the new Artistic Director. Milton was born and reared in Texas, earning his music degrees in voice and conducting from Texas A&M University, Kingsville, and from the University of Houston Moores School of Music. Before joining the faculty at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California in 1995, Pullen directed award-winning high school programs in Texas for 24 years, teaching for the majority of that time in the Clear Creek Independent School District. He also served on the faculty of Abilene Christian University. Read more about Milton Pullen on the BAC Website: www.bayareachorus.org.

One of Houston's oldest non-profit choral groups, the Bay Area Chorus (BAC) has brought heartfelt performances to Houston and the Texas Gulf Coast since the spring of 1965. The Veteran's Day Concert, during this Fiftieth Concert Season, will also honor Dr. Ray Moore (BAC Director from 1974-1988) who will be making a guest appearance to conduct two movements of Thompson's The Testament of Freedom and the Battle Hymn of the Republic. Before retirement in 1993, Dr. Moore taught for forty-one years as Director of Choral Activities at institutions such as Columbia University, the University of Houston, Lamar University, and Tascosa Senior High School in Amarillo, as well at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock where he now holds the title of Professor Emeritus. Dr. Moore also writes and announces on KLRE, Arkansas' national public radio classical-music station, delivering Notes on Music, and short stories of unusual interest concerning music and musicians. Read more about Dr. Ray Moore on the BAC Website: www.bayareachorus.org .

Milton Pullen will conduct the remainder of the concert, which includes Bach's Dona Nobis Pacem, Gretchaninoff's Our Father, Hope for Resolution, and God Bless America.
