BRENTWOOD, TN. (Sparrow Records) - Congratulations to tobyMac who debuts at No 1 on SoundScan's Christian sales chart this week with his long-anticipated second solo album, WELCOME TO DIVERSE CITY. The project's first single, 'Gone,' has also landed at No 1 on both Christian Hit and Rock radio charts according to R&R magazine.

Three years in the making, WELCOME TO DIVERSE CITY follows tobyMac's breakthrough solo effort MOMENTUM. A full-on musical gumbo of rap, rock, reggae, disco, funk, pop, and beyond, the new release deals in diversity, with special guests including Coffee from GRITS ('Hey Now'), Superchic[k] ('Stories'), and tobyMac's dc talk mates Michael Tait and Kevin Max ('Atmosphere – Remix').

About the new record, ChristianMusicToday.com writes, 'DIVERSE CITY is a journey worth taking again and again.' JesusFreakHideout.com says, 'Considering how solid tobyMac's MOMENTUM was, it seemed a tall order to expect his sophomore record to surpass it. However, surpass it, it does. WELCOME TO DIVERSE CITY is…easily one of the best and most fun records you may hear this year.'

Jay Swartzendruber, editor of CCM magazine declares, 'This new solo effort raises the bar on Toby's legacy. Bold, artistic, relational, and above all, redemptive, DIVERSE CITY is the compass for Toby's – and hopefully much of Christian music's – future.'

tobyMac is currently on tour with Third Day and is looking for 'Street Freaks' to help him spread the word about WELCOME TO DIVERSE CITY. For more information, go to tobyMac.com.
