NEW YORK (Top40 Charts) - After many errors from Nielsen Soundscan about the correct retail numbers, it was announced that '50 Number 1s' by George Strasit is the No 1 album in USA for the next week.

In the end, the last report with the correct sales shows that George Strait's new MCA release, "50 Number Ones," has landed him in the No 1 position on Billboard's Top 200 and Top Country Albums charts, beating out R&B sensation Usher by over 7,000 units.

With sales of 342,969 units this week, it marks the highest debut of Strait's illustrious 22-year recording career. Ironically, as "I Hate Everything," Strait's current single and the only new song off his 2 CD set, jumps to No 1 on Billboard's Hot Country Singles and Tracks Chart this week, it becomes his 51st No 1 and leaves Strait with the unique problem of giving his fans more number one hits than they bargained for!

Here's the Top 10 albums countdown of last week:
1. 50 Number Ones - George Strait (343,000 copies)
2. Confessions - Usher (336,000)
3. The Chronicles of Life & Death - Good Charlotte (198,500)
4. Greatest Hits, Vol. 1 - Korn (96,000)
5. Suit - Nelly (122,000)
6. Hilary Duff - Hilary Duff (97,000)
7. American Idiot - Green Day (86,000)
8. Feels Like Today - Rascal Flatts (82,000)
9. Live Like You Were Dying - Tim McGraw (67,000)
10. Goodies - Ciara (66,000)

Other notable debuts on The US Albums chart: "Totally Hits 2004, Vol. 2"/Various (No 19), Tom Waits/"Real Gone" (No 28), I-20/"Self Explanatory" (No 42) and another compilation "Wow Hits 2005: 31 of the Year's Top Christian Artists and Hits"/Various (No 44).
