Review from JazzReview.com

Martha Lorin has a wonderful powerhouse of a voice, her phrasing perfect, and her sensitivity right on key with each song! For those who enjoy the American Standards, this is a collection to have in your home library and as a gift for a friend. The arrangements of these songs perfectly suit the subtle voice of Martha Lorin. An example of Lorin at her finest is heard on Kern's "Why Was I Born," one of the finest renditions of this song in recent years.

There are thirteen songs in the collection. "Satin Doll," Cole Porter's "Get Out of Town," "Send in the Clowns," "New York, New York," "On the Street Where You Live," "Alone Together," "What I Did For Love," and "The Party's Over" are among the many fine songs.

If you are looking for an enjoyable collection of jazz vocals, BLUES OVER BROADWAY should be among your favorite picks for entertainment. For further information on the artist and this recording check out e-mail protected from spam bots.

Those new to the singing of Martha Lorin will find this the perfect introduction to her unique voice and talents. Highly recommended.

Tracks: Kern's "Why Was I Born," Porter's "Just One of Those Things," and Rogers' "Bewitched" are among the many standout vocal performances in this excellent collection of songs.
