New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ InnerCat Music Group) FincaFusion, a latin-rooted band directed by Dominican Grammy-winning producer/songwriter
Marco Hernandez alongside vocalist
Darwin Jose, releases its first single "La Gatica E' Mariaramos."
Vocalist
Darwin Jose and Composer/Producer
Marco Hernandez first met in Miami in 2006. The Dominican duo was characterized by combining traditional Bachata and Merengue with other popular rhythms. "It was something different and It seemed to me that we could adapt it very well…" explains Marco. At the time,
Darwin had been a Telemundo singer/songwriter reality show ("Letra y Musica") finalist, while
Marco was winning his third Grammy as a producer for the
Jose Feliciano album "Señor Bachata."
Marco Hernández, born in the Dominican Republic, comes from a musical family. In 1986 he received a scholarship to study at Berklee College of
Music in Boston, MA. Upon his return from Boston, he joined the group "Juan Luis Guerra and 4:40" as a singer from 1987 to 1999.
Marco was one of the main members of this world-famous Dominican band. In early 2000,
Marco released his first solo album, "Que Hable la Musica." The album featured pop sounds, popular and modern bachatas, ballads and other tropical rhythms. He wrote six songs on the album. Marco's compositions are neither strictly merengue nor bachata, but blends of traditional Dominican rhythms and forms with his love for jazz, pop, r&b, blues, rock - or whatever musical style has caught his interest at the moment. Marco's lyrics range from poetic to popular told-tales, which combined with Darwin's smooth voice make FincaFusion a superb act.
Marco has also written countless musical arrangements, lyrics, and commercial jingles (both internationally and domestically) and has won two Latin Grammys, the first in 2005 with the
Juan Luis Guerra and 4:40 album "Para Ti," and again with
Juan Luis Guerra in 2008.
By 2010, FincaFusion had become a solid musical proposal with a unique signature. The first two singles recorded for the album are "La Gatica E' Mariaramos" and "La Golddigger." The songs are based in real life situations filled with humor and a contagious beat. The FincaFusion moto is "to take our music around the world," says Darwin.
