Sophie Coran Wins 2014 Shure Songwriting Award
LONDON, UK (Top40 Charts/ ICMP) It's been another great year of talented singer/songwriters battling it out to win the Shure Songwriting Award 2014. This acclaimed award, offered through a unique partnership between the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance, the British Academy of Songwriters Composers and Authors (BASCA) and Shure aims to provide aspiring songwriters with an unrivalled opportunity to develop their talent in supportive and developmental way.

The prize this year is better than ever, over 70 hopefuls submitted their original songs with the dream of winning a scholarship to study songwriting at the Institute , £500 worth of Shure products and the opportunity to record with singer/songwriter and this year's specialist judge, Sam Duckworth (also known as Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly) in his London studio.

Now it is finally the time to announce that the winner of this year's award is Sophie Coran with her song 'Out of Focus'. Sophie will be joining the Institute's songwriting course in September along with runner up Melinda Ortner who will also be attending the Institute and receives a pair of Shure SRH840 headphones and a SM58 microphone.

Of their involvement with this year's award BASCA and Shure had to say:
