NEW YORK (Top40 Charts) - Superproducer, talent scout, and rapper Dr. Dre has pledged $1 million to help with the relief efforts stemming from last week's terrorist attacks in New York and Washington, D.C. Dr. Dre joins a growing contingent of entertainers who have pledged everything from concert proceeds to a portion of the revenue from the sales of their music to help the United States and its people in this time of need.

Some of the other artist that have already pledged to donate money include Tyrese, Swizz Beatz, RZA, and Fat Joe. Artist such as Maxwell and Madonna have stated that a percentage of the proceeds from their concerts would go toward relief efforts and helping the families of the victims, while underground rap group the Arsonists have pledged 50 percent of the royalties from the sale of their sophomore set, Date Of Birth, which was released on September 11, the day of the disaster.

In related news, Dr. Dre. who reportedly earned $31.5 million last year, is hard at work on new albums from Truth Hurts and Rakim. A new Dr. Dre song, "Biatch," has also turned up on several mix tapes across the country, and Mary J. Blige's Dr. Dre-produced top-10 hit "Family Affair" is currently Number Nine on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.
