The quintet are also pleased to reveal they have been added to this year's Hevy Fest, Make A Scene Festival and will be heading out on a UK headline tour in support of the new album which starts on
Thursday 18th
September in Bristol and finishes on 24th
September at O2 Academy2 Birmingham.
"Honestly?" comments front man Sam Thompson on the new record "This album nearly ended Me Vs Hero numerous times. What started out as a joke two years ago paraphrasing Alan Partridge's immortal line - 'yeah I'm completely fine' - actually became too literal for us. In the end we recorded it ourselves, from vocals in a council estate high rise, to guitars in a rubbish filled garage. It wasn't a pretty sight, it certainly wasn't comfortable and it was hugely hit and miss. We don't expect people to feel sorry for us, we know people got bored of waiting for us, some people will love what we've done, others won't. We started this record four years ago; we're just happy it's finally coming out."
After enough lows for any band to contend with, Me Vs Hero are finally back where they belong and are most definitely riding high once more; chomping at the bit to release new material and get back on the road - there's life in the old dog yet, and I'm Completely Fine sees the light of day just in time to bring some rays of pop punk sunshine to what can only be counted on as being a stereotypically British summer.
