Alyson Greenfield To Premiere "Uncharted Places" Music Video Directed By David Franklin On July 17, 2014
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Tinderbox Arts) After spending the past couple of years focused on directing the Tinderbox Music Festival and composing for film and TV, Alyson Greenfield is finally back on the scene with a new single and music video for "Uncharted Places." Greenfield will premeire the music video at one of Brooklyn's indie music hot spots Cameo Gallery on July 17th at 8:30pm with a screening and live performance. "Uncharted Places" Music Video Director David Franklin, known for his past directorial work with Luscious Jackson, Body Language, Lemonade, and Black Taxi, will be on hand at the screening for a short talk back.

Greenfield says, "It was a dream and an honor to work with David. He has such integrity and vision. I told him all I knew was that I wanted to fly and be under water and he made it happen by casting me as both Icarus and a nautical explorer from the 18th Century. We worked with a notion of falling-- falling into sleep and dream, falling back down to earth from the heat and power of the sun, falling from the mast of a ship into the depths of the ocean, and an overarching notion of willingly falling into the unknown."

Greenfield recorded "Uncharted Places" when she was invited into the Converse Rubber Tracks Studio with engineer Alex McKenzie (Doe Paoro), and then mixed the track with Roger Greenawalt (The Pierces, Rufus Wainwright). "Uncharted Places" features Greenfield's "eclectic sound" (AM New York) as she single-handedly plays a synthesizer, chord organ, toy piano, floor tom, and snare drum, all while accompanied by beatboxer Shane Maux (Duk Duk Goose).

Converse documented Greenfield recording "Uncharted Places" in both their "Track of the Week" and "Oh Hello" video series. Greenfield was also featured in the Converse Rubber Tracks "First Year Highlights" video alongside Theophilus London, Ra Ra Riot, and more.

The past year has been a busy one for Greenfield. When WNYC featured her music on their Soundcheck program Film Director Michael Carr heard it and approached her to score the feature film The American Templars. In addition to scoring The American Templars, Greenfield also had placements on Lifetime's hit TV series Dance Moms and in the film SuperSleuths, which premiered at the 2014 SXSW Film Festival. Greenfield also formed a new synth-pop side project, Polyvox, with collaborator Joe McGinty (Psychadelic Furs, The Ramones). Polyvox gained You Tube attention for the single/video, "Get on The Bus" which was commissioned by Electroharmonix to introduce the new 8-step program. Additional highlights of Greenfield's past year include becoming a regular at McGinty's long-running and beloved Loser's Lounge series at Joe's Pub, and a featured performer/collaborator at the 4th Annual Brooklyn Rock Lottery alongside band members of Oneida, Bad Girlfriend, Superhuman Happiness, and Rainer Maria.

Be sure to head to Cameo Gallery (93 N. 6th Street, Brooklyn) on July 17th to see "Uncharted Places" and catch Greenfield's set, featuring indie dance music with an epic flair and "adorable, quirky raps" (Gothamist).
