NEW YORK (AP) - TNT's John Lennon tribute concert, postponed in the wake of last week's terrorist attacks on New York and Washington, D.C., will be broadcast live Oct. 2 from New York's Radio City Music Hall. Newly dubbed "Come Together: A Night For John Lennon's Words & Music, Dedicated to New York City & Its People," the event will benefit relief efforts in addition to the originally announced charities. The event will air live on the cable network at 8 p.m. ET and be rebroadcast at 8 p.m. PT.

"The appropriateness of John Lennon's words, message, and music is even more timely now," co-executive producer Ken Ehrlich said in a statement. "New York City identified and shared a mutual love affair with John and Yoko [Ono], and now more than ever, that unbreakable bond grows even stronger in this time of healing."

"Come Together" will feature performances by Alanis Morissette, Cyndi Lauper, Dave Matthews, the Isley Brothers, Lou Reed, Marc Anthony, Moby, Nelly Furtado, Shelby Lynne, Stone Temple Pilots, and Yolanda Adams, with others to be added. The affair will be hosted by actor Kevin Spacey ("American Beauty"), and Dave Stewart (Eurythmics) will serve as musical director. Beck and Seal are the only artists missing from the list of originally announced performers.

The American Red Cross leads the list of newly named benefactors of the show. Others added are the September 11th Fund, the International Association of Fire Fighters, the New York Fraternal Order of Police WTC Fund, the National Organization for Victim Assistance, and the Twin Towers Fund. Also due to benefit from the tribute are the originally named organizations, the Violence Policy Center, and the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence united with the Million Mom March.

Originally scheduled for Thursday night (Sept. 20), the Lennon event was just one of many forced to change plans in the days following the tragic events of last week. Tickets issued for the originally scheduled date will be honored at Radio City Music Hall on Oct. 2.
