NEW YORK (Atlantic Records) - Jet continue to soar with nominations for many music awards this year. The latest nods follow Jet's recent MTV VMA win for the year's 'Best Rock Video,' for the 'Are You Gonna Be My Girl' clip. The Melbourne-based quartet has also just received the 31st Annual American Music Awards' nomination as 'Favorite Artist - Alternative Music.' The trophies will be handed out on Sunday, November 14th on ABC-TV (check local listings).

Back home in Australia, the band is the odds-on favorite to dominate the 2004 ARIA Music Awards, receiving nominations in a stunning seven categories, including 'Album of the Year,' 'Single of the Year' (for 'Are You Gonna Be My Girl'), 'Best Group,' 'Best Rock Album,' 'Breakthrough Artist - Album,' 'Breakthrough Artist - Single' (for 'Are You Gonna Be My Girl'), and 'Highest Selling Album.' Jet will also perform at the ceremonies, slated for Sunday, October 17th at the Sydney SuperDome.

Back in America, Jet picked up a trio of nods for the annual Radio Music Awards, including 'Artist of the Year: Rock Radio,' 'Artist of the Year: Rock Alternative Radio,' and 'Song of the Year: Rock Radio' (for 'Cold Hard Bitch').
As if all that wasn't enough, Jet is also in competition for the 'Woodie of the Year' (a.k.a. Artist of the Year) prize in mtvU's First Annual Woodie Awards, the online honors voted by students across America. Fans can vote for Jet at the mtvU website. Winners will be announced on November 1st.
