Echo & The Bunnymen's "Meteorites" Released In U.S. Now On 429 Records
Santa Monica, CA (Top40 Charts/ 429 Records) Echo & The Bunnymen's long-awaited new studio album, Meteorites, will be available in the U.S. tomorrow, June 3rd via 429 Records. After worldwide premieres in The Guardian, MSN Music and Pandora, the album was released on May 26th in the UK and is already a hit debuting at #30. Produced by Youth, Meteorites contains ten highly personal new songs written by founder Ian McCulloch and performed by Bunnymen stalwarts McCulloch and Will Sergeant along with Gordy Goudie (guitar) and Stephen Brannan (bass). The band released two singles simultaneously—"Lovers On The Run" in the UK and "Holy Moses" as the first U.S. single. Says Rolling Stone of "Lovers on the Run": "Luxuriating in string-sloshed killing-moon ooze that could teach today's young folks a thing or two about how to spoon out the decadent splendor." They announced their return to the U.S. for a tour which begins August 1st in Los Angeles at the historic Orpheum Theatre. Described by Ian McCulloch as the worthy successor to Crocodiles, Heaven Up Here, Porcupine and Ocean Rain, The Independent noted "Meteorites is a return to form." Meteorites will be available in the U.S. tomorrow on 429 Records.

Formed in 1978, the Bunnymen have been a vital force in the indie rock world for over 36 years having won over millions of obsessive music fans worldwide and indelibly influenced countless bands with their signature sound—from the Flaming Lips to Coldplay to Pavement. Meteorites is a key addition to their repertoire. It's an intimate song cycle written by Ian McCulloch performed by the band with a renewed sense of purpose showcasing all of their unmistakable musical hallmarks while taking them to a new level.
