Kicking off in Las Vegas, NV on October 14th, the tour will continue through 31 other cities in the United States and Canada (see below for complete itinerary). The Starting Line are looking forward to getting back on the road after spending the summer at Mission Sound Recording in Williamsburg, Brooklyn recording their new album with producer Tim O'Heir (All American Rejects, Hot Rod Circuit, Sebedoh). The new cd, Based On A True Story, will be released on Drive-Thru/Geffen Records in early 2005. The Starting Line first tasted mainstream success upon release of their 2002 full length debut Say It Like You Mean It. A remarkable set that has sold over 300,000 copies since its release. The following year The Starting Line released a six song acoustic EP entitled The Make Yourself At Home EP . This enhanced cd featured five new tracks and an acoustic version of "Best Of Me" - Say It Like You Mean It's debut single. Since the release of Say It Like You Mean It the band has had a non-stop touring schedule, which included extended stints with New Found Glory, Finch, Good Charlotte, the 2003 Warped Tour, a sold-out co-headlining tour of the U.S. with Taking Back Sunday and a three month sold-out U.S tour with Sum 41. Comprised of lead singer/bassist Ken Vasoli, guitarists Matt Watts and Mike Golla and drummer Tom Gryskiewicz, The Starting Line met via the Internet. While searching for a lead singer for his band, Matt checked out Ken's AOL profile and saw that they liked similar bands. An email conversation ensued and the next thing you know Ken was rehearsing and hanging out with his future bandmates. One problem... Ken was 14 at the time! He doubled up on classes and quickly finished high school and has been focusing on his music ever since.
