Biography
Banda Sinaloense el Recodo de Don Cruz Lizárraga, often referred to as Banda el Recodo, was founded in 1938; it has been under the direction of the Lizárraga family. Banda el Recodo has performed with such popular artists as Juan Gabriel and Michael Concepcion.
The ensemble consists of four clarinets, three trumpets, a tambora, a bass drum with a cymbal on top, a tarola, a snare drum, a tuba (Sousaphone style), three trombones, two alto horns (referred to as saxores or amonias in Mexico), and two singers.
According to the 2013 court testimonies of the drug lord Jesús Enrique Rejón Aguilar (alias El Mamito), Banda el Recodo performed at several private parties held by leaders of Los Zetas drug cartel for a sum of US$250,000. He also testified that the favorite banda of Miguel Treviño Morales (alias Z40), the former leader of Los Zetas, was Banda el Recodo.
Juan Luis Morera Luna (born December 19, 1978 in Cayey, Puerto Rico), better known by his stage name Wisin, is a Puerto Rican reggaeton musician, songwriter and record producer best known as a member of the reggaeton duo Wisin & Yandel. He released his first solo album El Sobreviviente in 2004, and ten years later, in 2014, his second solo studio album, El Regreso del Sobreviviente was released. Wisin is currently working with Prince Royce on their Power and Love tour.
