Biography
Born John Martin Maher on 31 October 1963 to Irish immigrants in Ardwick Manchester. Johnny Marr is a guitarist, singer, songwriter and producer. He is best known for being the founder member, songwriter and guitarist in eighties cult band The Smiths. The Smiths released 4 studio albums between 1984 and 1987 when the band dissolved. The Smith's major hits in the UK included 'Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now' and 'Sheila Take a Bow' which both reached #10 in the Official UK Singles Chart in 1984 and 1987 respectively.
